Netflix may be abuzz with the arrival of Marvel’s ‘Daredevil,’ but the streaming service’s OG breakout anti-hero will retake the throne even sooner by ‘House of Cards’ season 3's February 27 debut. That said, the newest photos and motion poster for the Kevin Spacey political drama teases some dark times ahead for the Underwoods, however long they can hold onto the Presidency…

Following the initial trailer, the latest look at ‘House of Cards’ season 3 sees Francis and Claire presenting a united front upon exiting Air Force One, though the stormy skies behind them tease that the Underwoods’ happy ending is far from over. Additionally, Netflix released a new synopsis and photos for the season suggesting that the President and First Lady may not be so united in celebration as we’d thought:

Created by Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated showrunner Beau Willimon, the critically acclaimed drama starring Golden Globe® winners Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, returns to Washington with the stakes now higher than ever. President Underwood fights to secure his legacy. Claire wants more than being First Lady. The biggest threat they face is contending with each other.

All 13 episodes premiering in 4K on February 27 (whatever that means), ‘House of Cards’ third term in office will see ‘Sons of Anarchy’ star Kim Dickens appearing among the cast in an unspecified role, along with ‘Law & Order: SVU‘s Jenna Sterns as a United Nations ambassador and ‘Dexter’’s Christian Camargo in a mysterious role. Russian band Pussy Riot has been said to make an appearance in the new season, while Tony Gilroy has joined on the creative side, and actress Elizabeth Norment (Frank’s secretary Nancy) tragically succumbed to cancer during production.
