We live in a fascinating media age with an even more promising future, as last week brought the news trifecta that 2015 would see the releases of 'The Avengers 2,' 'Justice League,' and 'Star Wars - Episode 7.'  Should then, we have any kernel of doubt that Joss Whedon and ABC's forthcoming 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series could be any less real?  From what we've learned, Whedon won't waste any time in shooting a pilot, but when will the series debut?

With plenty of Marvel movies on the slate for the coming year, including 'Iron Man 3,' and 'Thor: The Dark World,' it's no surprise that the Disney-owned comics conglomerate would looke to keep that momentum going with its upcoming 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series.  So far, we only know of Clark Gregg's return as Agent Phil Coulson, and Ming-Na's casting, but might the pilot actually start shooting sooner than we think?

According to a new report from DigitalSpy, recent "Television Show Auditions" listings place the 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series as shooting in Los Angeles January of next year, which would set the pilot on course for a (probable) Comic-Con 2013 debut and a fall premiere date on ABC.  Directed by Joss, the 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series will see the 'Avengers' director writing the script with brother Jed Whedon, with Jed's wife Maurisa Tancharoen directing as well.  The series will be set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe of the films, but mostly tell its own stories.

What say you?  Do you think we'll see the 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series premiering on ABC next fall?  Who do you hope to see appear on the series?
