Though we haven't heard any details about casting or who's directing the film, 'Jurassic Park 4's release date is looming with a supposed June 13, 2014 theatrical bid. Will they be able to make the date? It's quite possible that everything is coming together quickly and quietly as word is that Universal has set aside a shooting location for the months ahead.

Last we heard, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (writers of 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes') had turned in a draft that Universal was happy with, and they announced when the film would be released, but since then there's been nothing. And with a special effects-heavy movie, we figured they'd be as far along as -- say -- 'Godzilla' is at this point.

But word just came from New Orleans' The Times Picayune that Universal has reserved Raleigh Studios from April through November, and as they've used that location for shooting some of their most recent big movies, it stands to reason that they want it for their new 'Park.'

If this is the case, then that means it's very likely that more elements are in place than have been made public, and perhaps they're in the midst of contract negotiations with new or returning talents. But if the script has either Sam Neill or Jeff Goldblum's character in a lead role, one would think they'd lock those actors in before even completing the draft. There are two other options: 1) this is such a rush job that they'll throw whoever's available at it and hope it turns out, or 2) the pieces won't come into place, and they'll delay until winter 2014, or take their chances with summer 2015. But one thing's for certain. Universal has to commit or get off the pot very, very soon.
