It's never overkill to reiterate for the thousandth time that Christopher Nolan will not be directing the 'Justice League' movie. No matter how many rumors circulate the Webosphere or how many times fans cry out for a savior to come a save this project, it doesn't change the fact he threw in the towel after 'The Dark Knight Rises.' So, that means there's an opening.

As Deadline pointed out a while back, once Warner Bros.' top-ranking director publicly stated that his "take on the [Batman] character" was over and will have "no involvement with a 'Justice League' project," the studio then turned to their other top dog David Yates. Unfortunately, the 'Harry Potter' director is reportedly busy with thoughts of rebooting 'Tarzan,' which led to rumors about Ben Affleck possibly being the one to helm this project. But even those were quickly shot down.

Now fans of the DC universe are waiting not-so patiently for the next person on Warner Bros.' list. Who do you think it should be?

Since 'Justice League' can't rightfully make a run in theaters until Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash and maybe Green Lantern get their back stories featured on the big screen, maybe the 'Man of Steel' director Zack Synder will get his chance to lead this new band of superheroes. The teaser trailers for his Superman reboot, produced by Christopher Nolan, are already getting the world pumped for its release. Perhaps he's learned from his mistakes with 'Watchmen' and can pull out a movie capable of beating 'The Avengers' at the box office.

Some other names we'd be interested to see are Gareth Edwards, who's directing the upcoming 'Godzilla' movie, and Guillermo Del Toro, who's helmed 'Pacific Rim' and is talked about bringing 'The Incredible Hulk' to TV audiences. But who do you think would be the best person to take over directing duties for 'Justice League'? Let us know by voting in our poll below and sounding off in the comments.
