For a good long while now, we've been hearing tidbits from Guillermo del Toro on the status of his long-proposed plans to take 'The Incredible Hulk' back to live-action TV, but very little has felt concrete.  Following Comic-Con 2012, Marvel Studios has largely laid out its plans for the next few years, including 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' 'Iron Man 3,' 'Thor: The Dark World,' 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' and 'Ant-Man,' but nothing of The Hulk.

So, what does del Toro say is holding things up?

Even with the glorious bounty Marvel bestowed on its beloved fans at Comic-Con 2012, fans of that smashing jolly green giant the Hulk seem to be out of luck in the search for scoop.  We know that Marvel wants to move forward with future movies after the positive reception Mark Ruffalo received in 'The Avengers,' but what of the proposed Guillermo del Toro ABC series?

It seems like another non-update, as MTV managed to catch up with the 'Pacific Rim' director for an update on the long-gestating 'Incredible Hulk' TV series, but at least we're closer to understanding why.  Says the director:

I have had a couple of minutes with Marvel since 'Avengers,' and they have the screenplay. We're waiting for a particular writer to do a rewrite on the pilot. That's where we are right now. But we're still on.

A "couple of minutes" hardly seems like Marvel is looking to move full steam ahead on the project, but at least del Toro is confident 'The Incredible Hulk' will still happen, possibly even by next season.

What say you?  Do you think we'll be seeing the Hulk smash his way onto TV screens anytime soon, or will we have to make do with animation?  Give us your thoughts in the comments below!
