Remember that time when two of the greatest scientific minds in history battled for supremacy over the best way to turn on a lightbulb? The War of Currents took place in the late 1880s and early 1890s, and pitted Thomas Edison against George Westinghouse and Nikola Tesla in a battle for electric supremacy. The movie version of this that we’ve all been waiting for is arriving very soon, bearing the title The Current War, and Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Shannon have already signed on to star as Edison and Westinghouse, respectively. Now, two more stars are looking to join the cast.

First off, Katherine Waterston, who is set to appear in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and will star in Alien: Covenant, has been cast as Westinghouse’s wife Marguerite Erskine, according to Deadline. Today, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Tom Holland, whom you might know better as the current Spider-Man, is in talks to join the film as Edison’s assistant. Nicholas Hoult has also been confirmed to play Nikola Tesla.

The War of Currents started a feud between Edison and his detractors about which system of electric current delivery was the more straightforward. Edison favored direct current (DC) while Westinghouse and his cohorts sang the praises of alternating current (AC). (Spoiler alert: we use alternating current in all of our electrical power plants today.) The Current War doesn’t yet have a release date but Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) is helming the project, and is hoping to start shooting in early December.
