Shia LaBeouf is trying hard to be a badass -- first with his music video where he shook his bojangles at us, and secondly with scoring the role in the upcoming action flick 'Lawless.' We did get a glimpse of him in the official movie trailer along with 'Dark Knight' alumni Gary Oldman and Tom Hardy, but The Weinstein Company recently released seven brand new character posters that gave us an even closer look at how the 'Transformers' star plans on embodying his new role.

LaBeouf and Hardy play the Bondurants brothers, two Southern bootleggers who take the law into their own hands during the Prohibition. We already know the actor currently known to the world as Bane in 'The Dark Knight Rises' can hold his own in a fight, but LaBeouf is another story. His name just doesn't strike fear in the hearts of his enemies.

Thanks to Collider for giving us a look at the new 'Lawless' posters, we see LaBeouf striking one of those "live free, or die" gangster poses with two pistols we're assuming he needed a lot of help handling on the set. Oldman and the rest of the cast, especially Guy Pearce and Jessica Chastain, on the other hand, are looking pretty at home in both the trailer and their posters.

Get a load of all seven new images below and let us know in the comments if you think LaBeouf is holding his own amongst the star-studded cast.
