Misleading titles aside, it seems like the exhaustive search for the man who dares to co-star alongside the acting might of Lindsay Lohan has finally ended.  Scouring every corner of Hollywood, Lifetime has finally settled on the man to play Richard Burton to Lohan's Elizabeth Taylor in the original TV movie 'Liz & Dick.'  So, you wonder, who's the lucky man?  Surely it couldn't be Wilmer Valderrama, right?

Deadline announces that 'True Blood' and 'Defiance' star Grant Bowler has nabbed the other title role in Lifetime's original movie 'Liz & Dick,' playing legendary film star Richard Burton to Lindsay Lohan's Elizabeth Taylor.  The announcement comes after a long period of testing actors for the part, a mere 10 days before filming of the legendary Hollywood love story was set to begin.

Though initially seeking a Burton-appropriate Welsh star for the role, executive producer Larry A. Thompson said that Bowler wowed him in the role, and that the chemistry between he and Lohan "erupted" in the room around them.  Says Thompson:

Grant will add gravitas to our couple and bring to life one of the greatest actors who has ever lived.

Burton was a Welsh poet, a rascal, and a man’s man, who swept Elizabeth Taylor off her feet and flew her so close to the sun that they both exploded into stardust that still lights up Hollywood.

Well, that's a sweeping endorsement if we ever heard one.  Of course, all eyes are still on Lindsay Lohan to see if the troubled actress can make it through filming without any kind of incident, as even her recent turn on 'Glee' was said to have been a "nightmare" for all involved with shooting.

Will you turn to Lifetime to catch Lohan and Bowler in 'Liz & Dick,' or is the film destined to be a Hollywood train wreck?  Sound off in the comments below!
