‘Preacher’ Season 2 Jams Out in First Official Teaser
What, you didn’t think we’d get through The Walking Dead Season 7 finale without a taste of Preacher, did you? Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy hit the road in our first official Season 2 teaser, chock-full of all the blood and supernatural shenanigans we’ve been missing.
Not only do our unholy trinity undertake a road trip from Hell in the first footage, but we also get a first look at some of Herr Starr’s men, and catch up with Arsefase and more. And hey, one could always stand to debate the merits of Dexys Midnight Runners. “Come On Eileen” is divisive!
Curiously, the teaser identifies the premiere as Sunday, June 25, as opposed to the June 19 date previously announced. In either case, so reads the Preacher Season 2 synopsis:
The expanded second season, consisting of 13 episodes, is a genre-bending thrill ride that follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
Joining the cast of Preacher Season 2 in unidentified roles are Game of Thrones alum Noah Taylor, Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Pip Torrens, and Fargo alum Julie Ann Emery as series regulars. Recurring roles will include Timeless star Malcolm Barrett, Homeland alum Ronald Guttman, and Justin Prentice.
We’ll learn more of Preacher Season 2 soon, but check out the photos below and stay tuned.
