Eddie Bunker, the actor who plays Mr. Blue in the movie, didn’t have to do much research to play the role of a criminal. Bunker had previously been convicted of bank robbery, drug dealing, extortion, armed robbery, and forgery, and at age 17, had the distinction of being the youngest ever inmate in San Quentin State Prison. He escaped from prison multiple times until he was finally released for good in 1975 and decided to turn his attention to writing and acting.
