Well, we all knew this was coming.  Whether or not you followed the 2012 Olympics, or merely tuned in to see the Spice Girls' glorious reunion, chances are you've heard the name Ryan Lochte floating about.  Not only has the Olympic gold-medal winning swimmer set his sights on the reality TV circuit, now it seems like he's paddling his way toward scripted television as well.  And what groundbreaking drama has the media sensation going for the gold?  Why, The CW's reboot of '90210,' of course!  Joy.

TVLine is reporting that loveable five-time Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Ryan Lochte has begun his media blitz of Hollywood by booking a guest turn on The CW's '90210.'  Lochte will of course be playing himself, appearing as a guest at a resort where the recently-reunited Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) and Max (Josh Zuckerman) are staying in an effort to improve their relationship.

The Olympic swimmer had previously expressed a desire to move to Hollywood, starring in several Funny Or Die videos during the games, while his agent claims to have received multiple offers for reality TV show deals.  Apart from his medals, Lochte has achieved a bit of notoriety during the 2012 Olympic games, publicly admitting to urinating in the pool prior to races, attempting to wear a diamond American-flag grill during his gold medal acceptance and his mother’s ill-conceived statement that her son only has time for one-night stands.

Amidst partying in London, Lochte even suggested to reporters that he would be open to a ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ appearance, potentially squaring off against fellow notable swimmer Michael Phelps.  Sadly, we'd probably watch that.

What say you?  Do you think Lochte's Hollywood career will have the longevity of an Olympic swimming pool?  Will his '90210' appearance win any medals from the fans?  Should we make more Olympics jokes?  Sound off in the comments below!
