Now almost two weeks out from Avengers: Endgame, we still have no official idea what is coming from Marvel in Phase Four of its cinematic universe beyond a third Guardians of the Galaxy. We’ve heard rumors and possible casting new for some projects — a movie based on The Eternals, one for Shang-Chi, Marvel’s Master of Kung Fu, a Doctor Strange sequel, a Black Panther sequel — but as far as Marvel has concerned, nothing has been announced.

That was reinforced by the new release calendar Disney published today, which contains eight slots for Marvel movies, none of them named. And the first of these eight Marvel movies comes out on May 1, 2020. That’s less than a year away! Unless Disney changes their release calendar — and they just announced a whole bunch of changes literally today, so it’s not like they’re in the dark here — Disney has a secret Marvel movie coming out and nobody outside the company knows what it is.

Here are all the release dates for Disney’s upcoming Marvel slate:

  • May 1, 2020 - Untitled Marvel
  • November 6, 2020 - Untitled Marvel
  • February 12, 2021 - Untitled Marvel
  • May 7, 2021 - Untitled Marvel
  • November 5, 2021 - Untitled Marvel
  • February 18, 2022 - Untitled Marvel
  • May 6, 2022 - Untitled Marvel
  • July 29, 2022 - Untitled Marvel

So when are we going to find out what these movies — particularly the one due in theaters next spring — are? The likely times would be San Diego Comic-Con in July, or Disney’s own D23 Expo this coming August. Or Marvel could hold their own press event to unveil the entire slate. I have a feeling after Avengers: Endgame’s box office people would show up to cover it.
