‘Shameless’ Season 6 Goes Retro in First Showtime Teasers

We’ve had an eventful year, TV-wise, but it’s never too early to start looking ahead to 2016. To wit, the Gallagher family is already back, and more crass than ever, as Showtime previews the premiere of Shameless Season 6 with a host of new promos.

Our first look at Shameless Season 6 ditches the gentrification vibe of last year, exchanging a ‘70s motif for the Gallaghers, at least in key art. Actual footage from the new season sees Frank (William H. Macy) back to living in the Gallagher household (uncomfortable thong and all), while Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) has already returned from juvie, and with an appropriate hairstyle to boot.

Thus far, we know relatively little of Shameless Season 6, though Showtime previously assured that the next round of Gallagher debauchery would pick up on Sunday, January 17, alongside the new Damian Lewis - Paul Giamatti Wall Street drama Billions. Guests for the new Shameless season also include Mad TV alum Will Sasso, Ever Carradine, and Chris Brochu.
