CW’s ‘The Flash’ Chills in First Look at Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold
CW's 'The Flash' spinoff is only hours away from racing out its series premiere installment, but it seems the speedy character's DC nemesis might have beaten him to the punch. Our first look at 'Prison Break' alum Wentworth Miller in costume as Leonard Snart / Captain Cold has arrived, looking ready to freeze 'The Flash' in his tracks over the coming weeks.
Per DC guru Geoff Johns' Instagram page, the first shots of Miller in costume show a reasonable departure from the character's comic look, keeping the freeze ray, but ditching the slitted glasses for some protective goggles and more sensible weather-wear (note the parka hood in the second image). Miller will first appear in the 'Arrow' spinoff''s fourth episode, before returning in the 10th alongside 'Prison Break' brother Dominic Purcell, playing fellow DC "Rogues" baddie Heat Wave, or Mick Rory.
Greenlit for 13 episodes and with additional scripts already ordered, ‘The Flash’ also boasts among its cast Tom Cavanaugh’s Dr. Harrison Wells, Jesse L. Martin's Detective West and Candice Batton's Iris West, Danielle Panabaker's Caitlin Snow and Carlos Valdes’ Cisco Ramon, original 'Flash' John Wesley Shipp as Barry's father Henry Allen, and ‘The Vampire Diaries‘ star Rick Cosnett as Central City Police transfer Detective Eddie Thawne.
Additionally, 'Arrow' star Stephen Amell's cousin Robbie has also signed on to play an incarnation of DC superhero Firestorm, joining such colorful DC characters as Kelly Frye's Plastique, Robert Knepper's returning Clock King, Greg Finley's Girder, and Clancy Brown's General Wade Eiling.
We've seen and reviewed 'The Flash' pilot already, with another more in-depth look at tonight's premiere coming later, but what do you think? Check out our first look at Captain Cold in action below, and tell us what you want to see from The CW's speedy new DC drama after tonight's premiere!
