Vampires Evolve in New ‘The Strain’ Season 3 Inside Look
It’s easy to forget that the first two seasons of FX’s Guillermo del Toro-fueled The Strain only take place over a matter of weeks, but by the time Season 3 begins, the threat is already starting to evolve. Strigoi are faster, smarter, and of course even uglier in a new two-minute sneak peek from the forthcoming season.
Ahead of a full The Strain panel at Comic-Con 2016, FX debuted a new behind-the-scenes sneak peek at Season 3, teasing a number of new developments. Not only are the vampires beginning to evolve, but Vasily Fet has his own private army to fight back against a rapidly-worsening Manhattan.
Additionally, we have the first official press release for the August 28 premiere:
“New York Strong”
The strigoi are evolving, becoming faster. Smarter. Eph struggles to improve his failing bioweapon while trying to work through the emotional fallout of the abduction of his son, Zack. As Setrakian and Quinlan attempt to crack the Lumen’s deepest-held secrets, Fet helps a Navy SEAL team in a deadly mission: search for the Master through the underground tunnels of New York.
So reads the full synopsis:
As season three begins, New York City is a battleground. Written off by the federal government, the people of New York City must fight for survival on their own. The question is who will win? Humans or strigoi? Our heroes win victories, but are not winning the war. Beset by personal conflicts – betrayal, disappointment, paranoia – our group is splintering… Meanwhile, the Master is close to executing an irreversible transformation of the world. Is there still hope to save the city and humanity?
We’ll surely learn more on at Comic-Con 2016, but check out the teasers below, and stay tuned for more on The Strain Season 3 in its August 28 premiere.
