We all know by now that Marvel are pros at keeping secrets, and at keeping their actors’ and directors’ mouths shut through some probable combination of Godfather-like threats, wizardry, and those flashing lights from the Men in Black movies that remove people’s memories. Out of all the actors in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, the one who will no doubt keep those movies secrets the best Tom Holland — because they won’t even let him touch the script.

While speaking to the Toronto Sun about Spider-Man: Homecoming and all things superhero, Holland said that Marvel hadn’t given him a copy of the script because he’s terrible at keeping things on the DL.

I don’t know anything about it or what it’s about. I know who the villain is, but that’s it. They don’t let me read anything because I’m so bad at keeping secrets.

I mean, could any of us do any better?

This hilariously mirrors Spidey’s own relationship to the Avengers, actually. As the youngest and newest member of the team, he’s probably kept in the dark about a lot of things. That’s exactly what Homecoming is about: Peter Parker’s constant need to prove himself to his new teammates.

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters July 27. Avengers: Infinity War opens May 4, 2018.
