I found every Avengers Doomsday Easter egg in Spider-Man Brand New Day. And one of them even showed us the blueprints to Dr. Doom's secret weapon to conquer the multiverse. Hey, welcome back to Screen Crush. I'm Colton Ogburn. And Spider-Man Brand New Day is breaking record after record. And that bodess quite well for Marvel Studios next big movie Avengers Doomsday and its potential to do what the naysayers said it couldn't, which is past the $2 billion mark with flying colors and maybe even bump up against that never-beforechieved $3 billion box office. And look, while Spider-Man Brand New Day didn't serve as like a prelude story or do a lot of major on then nose setups for Avengers Doomsday, it did do more than just serve as a tasty appetizer to make audiences even more excited to see the next big Marvel movie. There are clues hidden in Brand New Day that give us massive hints about what we will be getting in Avengers Doomsday. So, let's break them all down and we'll start with Yolena Bova and her potatoes. In Brand New Day, we learn that Yolena and Spider-Man have met, and occasionally they meet to discuss hero operations, if you will. We see Spider-Man go to an address that Yolena has deemed her office, but it's actually a spa. Now, I thought it was a little odd that they opted to have Yolena's cameo in this movie take place at a spa instead of at Avengers Tower, but we at least did see Avengers Tower pop up in the skyline a couple times, such as here and here. And look, I I get that the spa thing, it was a cute gag, and having Spider-Man swing up to Avengers Tower to meet her may have kind of defeated the purpose of the whole big potatoes versus small potatoes thing and how we're supposed to understand that Spider-Man is more so a New York City protector. While the Avengers, on the other hand, simply have their headquarters in New York City, but operate on a global scale. So, I get it. But after thinking on it a little more, I think I know what major plot point from Doomsday we are seeing teased here by having Yolena's office be at this spa rather than at Avengers Tower. Elena is miserable. She doesn't want to be where she is. Her place as the leader of the new Avengers is in many ways a sham. Yes, she has dirt on Valentina that she and the others can use to maintain funding and use of the tower and them getting to run the Avengers the way they want. But Yolena still knows that she is working with Valentina. And in the same way that Yolena can pull the rug out from under Val, Val can also pull that rug out from under Yolena. Elena has found herself in a situation where she and Val have essentially become codependent. Val has to watch her step. Yes, but Elena can't just push Val around without risking Val betraying her and blowing up the whole thing. In fact, I I think Yolena is very aware that Val is most certainly plotting daily for how she can reinstate herself as the woman in charge, whether that be dirt on Yolena or Alexi or any of the others, maybe trying to just kill them. I I wouldn't put anything past Val, and neither would Yolena. So, while yes, Yolena has taken on her sister's role as Black Widow. She's leading the Avengers. She quite literally has been passed a baton, but she can't fully realize this vision because of the presence of Valentina and the backroom dealings, corrupt [ __ ] that Val is up to that essentially is what is funding the new Avengers. And I think that is why Yolena spends all her time at the spa instead of at the tower. Yolena doesn't want to be at Avengers Tower. It doesn't feel safe. It doesn't feel like home. and it doesn't feel like a place where she can do her work without having to constantly look over her shoulder. And we see that illustrated in this Thunderbolts postredit scene, which is actually a scene pulled straight from Doomsday. When Elena walks into Avengers Tower and starts working on this tablet, she seems unfamiliar with all of it. Bucky is even having to tell her under his breath what to do. She got a satellite image. Uh, get a satellite image. So, this falls in line with what we are seeing here in Brand New Day, which takes place during the 14-month time skip between the ending of Thunderbolts and the postredit scene of Thunderbolts, which again is a scene from Doomsday. Brand New Day is showing us that Yolena spends very little time at Avengers Tower, and that's already been foreshadowed here. And to add fuel to the fire of Yolena feeling uncomfortable in the new Avengers Tower, Sam Wilson's Captain America is now fighting for the name Avengers. So that is making Yolena feel even more like a fraud. And I I think we can safely assume that Sam has determined that he has no interest in operating on a team of Avengers under the ownership of a corrupt person like Valentina. And he doesn't want his team of Avengers to be a bunch of ex- mercenaries. So Yolena will of course be saddened by these accusations from Sam that because of her past that means she can't be a hero. And we'll see her and Sam and Bucky all talk about that. talk about how Black Widow, Natasha Romangh, she was a super spy assassin. Bucky was the Winter Soldier, has probably killed more than any of them. So, while I do think we'll see Yolena continue to struggle with forgiving herself for her past, which is something that was explored in Thunderbolts, the other main thing we're going to see her struggling with is that she knows the New Avengers is kind of a sham. She knows deep down that some of Sam's accusations are true. The New Avengers are compromised by Val. the new Avengers. They are a team of misfit killers who have done terrible things. But Elena does also know from the lessons learned in Thunderbolts that your past does not define your future and she is trying like hell to dig herself and her fellow new Avengers out of that hole. But as we're seeing in Brand New Day, I think it's proving difficult and that's why she's not spending a lot of time at Avengers Tower. And guys, you know what's funny? I will spend hours researching my Marvel theory videos or digging through articles to prepare for a video like this. I am very diligent about my job, but when it comes to something even more important, like my health and making doctor's appointments, somehow I always manage to put it off. Like, I do a lot of typing when I'm writing a script or a lot of mouse movement when editing videos, and I keep getting this pain in my wrist. And finally, it it reached the point where it was actually impeding me from doing my work as quickly as I usually do. So, I really really needed to see a doctor. But god, that can be timeconuming. You have to figure out who takes your insurance. Call during business hours, which is also when you're working. Then you sit on hold. And then after all that, they tell you, "Oh, the next appointment isn't for another month or two." At that point, it's really easy to just say, "I'll deal with it later." But that's exactly why I wanted to tell you about Zachdoc. They are the sponsor of this video. Zagdoc is a free marketplace that makes it much easier to find and book doctors. You can search for local in-et network providers, compare detailed profiles and reviews from real patients, see actual appointment availability, and book online in just a few clicks. Zagdog has more than 150,000 providers across over 200 specialties in all 50 states. And appointments are often available within 24 to 72 hours, with some sameday appointments available as well. Honestly, taking that first step is usually the hardest part, and Zach Dog makes it a whole lot easier. So, finally, I did see a doctor about my wrist, and I was very pleased with the speed and ease at which I was able to speak with a doctor and get professional advice on some exercises and other measures to take to get my wrist feeling better and prevent it from happening again. So, if you've been putting off scheduling an appointment, like so many of us do, click the link in the description below. [music] So there's the Yolena doomsday Easter egg. I I think it's great that she had a small role in Brand New Day to help introduce her to a wider audience that maybe didn't watch Thunderbolts, Hawkeye, or Black Widow. And now everyone who goes to see Doomsday will have at least met her in Spider-Man Brand New Day. And this scene in Brand New Day also reveals why we don't see the Avengers give Spider-Man a ring in Doomsday. Because Dr. Potato Head Doom is a big ass potato. Spider-Man's dealing with small potatoes. But you know what? Spider-Man has fought some big ass purple Avengers level potatoes before. So maybe we do see Elena bring Spidey into the mix. And the postredit scene of Brand New Day may have just teased that. More on that in a bit. And super quick before we move beyond Yolena, can I just say it would have been really cool if they had her pop up at the hospital to visit Spider-Man. Maybe while he was still unconscious and we could have seen her like have an exchange with the Punisher about how brave Spider-Man is and how New York needs him and just give us a better sense of why Elena has deemed Spider-Man the small potato handler. Not because she thinks he can't handle big potatoes, but because this city needs a protector like Spider-Man. After all, New York City has become a bit of a breeding ground for the Earth 616 attacks. You never see Dallas or Chicago get the alien invasion or turned into a shadow or frozen by a telepath. It's always New York City. All right, next we have the Hulk. Bruce Banner, an OG Avenger. He was featured in this movie and he is another big hero that is surprisingly not an Avengers doomsday that we know of. And Spider-Man Brand New Day just gave us a reason why. In Professor Banner's classroom in Brand New Day, we see him teaching lattice quantum chronodnamics, which in very simple terms is a way for supercomputers to solve the math of the universe. It turns continuous space and time into a 3D digital grid, kind of like a chessboard. Now, in the comics, Dr. Doom has a device called the Prime Mover to play a chesslike game, moving miniature representations of our heroes and entities to dictate realworld conflict. We also saw in one of the Doomsday character trailers that Magneto and Xavier were playing chess just like the old times. Now, these equations about time and space on this chalkboard in Bruce's classroom mean that following the events of Ingame and the time heist, Bruce is on the same track as Reed with his chalkboard renderings of the multiverse that we will be seeing in Doomsday. But I think we'll learn come Doomsday that this is an equation that Dr. Doom has already figured out. his equation to create Battle World, a conglomeration patchwork of worlds built from the remaining pieces of the multiverse, a place featured in the Secret Wars comics and which will likely be the setting of Avengers: Secret Wars. We'll probably even see it at the end of Doomsday. Now, Bruce Banner in Brand New Day, after hulking out, he gets sent to a psychord according to the news, and the news never lies. But in all actuality, he has likely been sent somewhere far worse. Likely a private underground offthebooks facility owned by Valentina and maybe even operated by William Mezer, where they contain an experiment on enhanced individuals, most being mutants. Now, you'll notice they didn't say Banner was going to the raft, which is where they sent the last Hulk that lost his [ __ ] No, they said a psychward, which to me sounds like a cover up for something much worse. And this could be what results in Hulk having a very surprising role come the end of Doomsday or even in Secret Wars. We could see Hulk liberated by Doom, freed from this captivity, and Doom could use his magic to finally grant him this peace that he has been searching for. All to persuade Hulk to be one of Doom's enforcers. Perhaps we even see the introduction of Maestro. Or come Secret Wars after the likely collapse of the multiverse and Doom's formation of Battle World, we could see the Hulk living in bliss in a section of Battle World that is all hulks. We've actually seen some leaked concept art for Secret Wars that indicate just that. This could be a place where he can finally feel happy and not like a threat. And this could make it difficult to persuade Bruce or the Hulk to join the rebellion against Doom. Okay, so that's Bruce and the Hulk. Now, the next Doomsday Easter egg I caught was more so a lack thereof in Easter egg, and that's the absence of Doctor Strange, who remember is New York City based. And look, I understand they can't just have every damn Marvel hero who lives in New York pop up in the movie. I understand that Peter knows that Doctor Strange no longer remembers him, at least not Peter Parker, but I think Doctor Strange would still remember working with Spider-Man. Anyway, I I think narratively with the presence of a mind hopper, a situation that Yolena has said sounds like possession, you would think narratively speaking, it would just make sense to see Spider-Man once again darken Doctor Strange's sanctum door and ask for help. But here's the thing. I don't think Strange is home. I think the absence of Doctor Strange in this movie confirms that ever since the Multiverse of Madness postredit scene when Clea came for Strange stating that he caused an incursion and together they're going to fix it. Strange, I think, has been gone that entire time, a long time, years. And I think we will see him again and Clea in Doomsday, but at the very end when they are revealed as masked members of Doom's coven with the goal of saving the multiverse. All right. And of course, we have to talk Gan Gray and the introduction of our very first official MCU proper X-Men character. Yes, we've had confirmation of mutants in the MCU before, like with Miss Marvel, and that actually plays into what I'm about to say here. But the introduction of not a variant from another universe Gan Gray, but an actual of this universe, universe 616 Gan Gray with her mutant abilities introduced in the MCU. This is a huge Doomsday in Secret Wars Easter egg because this is only possible because Disney bought Fox. Well, yes, but in universe, [clears throat] this is only possible because Loki is now at the helm of the multiverse and allowing for all universes to flow freely and no longer have to abide by these rules of the sacred timeline. This is a timeline that once upon a time line didn't allow for mutants to exist in universe 616. But now with the multiverse flowing freely, and yes, since Loki's rule is one that exists outside of linear time, these effects are retroactive, now making it as if mutants have always been in the MCU. And there have been some credible reports that while Sadi sinks Jean Gray won't be popping up in Doomsday that we know of, she will indeed have a role to play in Secret Wars. Speaking of doomsday Easter eggs in Spider-Man Brand New Day, we heard Yolena mention big potatoes versus small potatoes, right? Well, here is our big potato level threat t-shirt featuring a big old potato wearing a Dr. Doom green cloak. Be sure to check out our merch store, screen crushmmerch.com. There we have lots of fun Marvelins inspired parody shirts. We've got our Spider-Man parody collection as well as our Doomsday inspired collection. Shopping our merch store is the best way to support our channel. Thank you so much for your support. All right, guys, and last but certainly not least, we need to talk about the postredit scene of Brand New Day and how that sets up Avengers Doomsday. Now, the postredit scene for Brand New Day featured a shot of Ned's Spidey Tracker app saying that a new Spider-Man sighting has been located in space. [ __ ] please. You've been to space. Now, this postredit scene, I think it is not meant to be taken literally, like someone has actually spotted Spider-Man in space, reported it to the app. No, this is just a fun way of teasing to the audience that Spider-Man will have a role to play in these next Avengers movies. But the question is, which Spider-Man? Peter 1, Peter 2, Peter 2, Peter 3, Peter 3. Is this a reference to Tom Holland's Peter 1, or is this in reference to Toby Maguire's Peter 2, who remember was mentioned in Brand New Day? Organic webs. Peter 2 had him. He was cool. You're cool. This postredit scene showed us not only drifting from Earth and into space, but we also go through these glitchy barriers that I think represent going into neighboring universes. Here's my pitch, and I actually covered this over on my personal channel a little while ago, so feel free to check that out. Link in the description below. Anyway, what if, and hear me out, we know the Fantastic 4 rocket is traveling from their universe to the MCU, and we know from the Doomsday trailer that Steve Rogers is on board that rocket. What if another OG Marvel hero has been picked up as well, Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man? I'm telling you right now, if we see the Fantastic 4 rocket dock at Avengers Tower and off steps the Fantastic 4, Thor, Steve Rogers, and then Tobey Maguire Spider-Man. Now, the other option, of course, is that this is teasing not a Spider-Man coming into the MCU, but a Spider-Man leaving the MCU. What if in Doomsday, we actually learn that Yolena has decided she needs her small potato boy to come help out and brings Peter 1 with her to the X-Men universe, which we know she goes to with Reed Richards in Doomsday. We saw it in the trailer. That would be really dope. All right, so those are some of the Doomsday references that I spotted in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
