As HBO's 'Girls' officially premieres its second season tonight, the Judd Apatow-produced/Lena Dunham-created dramedy can add a bit more buzz under its belt. The 2013 Golden Globe awards have given the Best Actress in a TV Series, Comedy or Musical statue to series creator, writer, director and star Lena Dunham! Find out what funny ladies of comedy she bested inside!

As much as we would have liked to see either host Tina Fey or Amy Poehler take home the award, 'Girls' star Lena Dunham has been awarded the Best Actress in a TV Series, Comedy or Musical at the 2013 Golden Globes. Having largely been snubbed at the Emmys, Dunham graciously accepted the award by thanking the nominees and women of comedy who inspired her earlier in life.

In addition to the aforementioned hostesses nominated for '30 Rock' and 'Parks and Recreation,' Dunham won out over Zooey Deschanel of FOX's 'New Girl,' and Julia Louis-Dreyfus of HBO's 'Veep.'

Do you think Lena Dunham deserved the Best Actress in a TV Series, Comedy or Musical for 'Girls?' Did you watch the season 2 premiere? Sound off in the comments!
