Now that The Inhumans are firmly settled on Earth, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have traded places with them in space. Ahead of Friday’s two-hour premiere, watch the first seventeen minutes of Season 5, as we learn what became of Coulson and co. after that guardedly galactic Season 4 cliffhanger.

Marvel released the first seventeen minutes of Friday’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 premiere, “Orientation,” as had previously been shown at New York Comic-Con. In it, we learn a little more about the mysterious figures that abducted Coulson and the team in the Season 4 finale, before catching up with the group in a mysterious facility in space. Judging by Coulson’s resigned demeanor in the finale, however, we’d guess that scene took place some time after Friday’s premiere.

Here’s the full “Orientation” synopsis:

COULSON AND THE TEAM ARE LOST IN SPACE, ON THE TWO-HOUR SEASON PREMIERE OF ABC’S ‘MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.’ “Orientation (Part One)”/“Orientation (Part Two)”

Coulson and the team find themselves stranded on a mysterious ship in outer space, and that’s just the beginning of the nightmare to come, when Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns for its highly anticipated fifth season with a special two-hour premiere, FRIDAY, DEC. 1 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.

This year on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will feature Jeff Ward as roguish scavenger Deke, The 100 alum Eve Harlow as the resourceful Tess, Coy Stewart as an Inhuman named Flint, and Stranger Things 2 star Pruitt Taylor Vince as gruff taskmaster Grill. The series will also move to Fridays at 9:00 P.M. in the old Inhumans slot after the premiere
