Back in September, Al Pacino was gushing over ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and how he had surprisingly loved it, which of course led the veteran actor to pondering the possibilities of starring in a Marvel superhero movie. And now Pacino seems to be closer to achieving his dreams, as he’s reportedly met with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige to discuss the possibility of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Pacino joined MTV’s Josh Horowitz as a guest on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, where he talked about his desire to star in a Marvel superhero movie, as long as the part is right for him and he’s right for the part. He continued to praise ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ which inspired him to seek out Marvel in the first place:

Why wouldn’t I like a movie like that? Why wouldn’t I appreciate a movie like that? I’m not necessarily going to be in it, but at the same time, there’s value to it, and you can see it.

Pacino went on to confirm that he’s already met with Marvel’s Kevin Feige, and when asked if he feels as though anything substantial might come from that meeting, this happened:

‘I would imagine either there’s something he feels is right for me, or…’

…and then Pacino’s phone started to ring, interrupting the revelation. ‘Every time we talk about Marvel, that’s what happens,’ he laughed.

And there you have it. Al Pacino is a huge nerd for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and he really, really hopes to land a role in a Marvel superhero film … if, you know, both parties feel that it’s right. Who would Pacino even play? I could see him as a villainous business executive, similar to the Robert Redford role in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ but Al Pacino in tights? Never.
