Given the notorious secrecy surrounding the series, it could be a while yet before FX's 'American Horror Story: Coven' offers any real look at the scares on deck for season 3. Even so, the Ryan Murphy drama just added some major pretty to the proceedings, casting 'Scream 4' star Emma Roberts for a recurring role! Find out who she plays in 'American Horror Story: Coven' inside!

'Scream 4' may have bled out at the box office, but that hasn't stopped Roberts from returning to the horror genre. Via TVLine, we've learned that Roberts will take a role in 'American Horror Story: Coven,' the third iteration of FX's Emmy-winning Ryan Murphy franchise. While most castings have been kept under wraps, Roberts will play a self-involved party girl named Madison. It remains to be seen how much, if any interaction she'll have with real-life boyfriend Evan Peters.

Roberts joins ‘American Horror Story: Coven’ newcomers Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone Gabourey Sidibe and Kathy Bates,’ along with returning franchise regulars Jessica Lange, Lily Rabe, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson. So far, we know only select details of the FX drama’s third season, including that ‘Coven’ will have a love story focus akin to the one between Violet (Farmiga) and Tate (Peters) in season 1. The third outing will be set in the modern day across several cities, primarily New Orleans, occasionally dipping back into the past as the narrative requires.

Well, what say you? Are you excited for 'American Horror Story: Coven's' increasingly star-studded cast? What new horror icons do you think the series will explore in season 3?
