‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ Casts World’s Smallest Woman, First Look at Jessica Lange

The other day saw 'American Horror Story' season 4 making one of its biggest additions to the 'Freak Show' in the form of legendary singer Patti LaBelle, but are you ready for the smallest? Find out what role the "World's Smallest Woman" Jyoti Amge will have in the 'Freak Show' (okay, it's a bit transparent), and get a first look at Jessica Lange in costume as lead character Elsa Mars!

Series creator Ryan Murphy revealed the casting news over Twitter, snapping a photo of Guinness record-holder Amge alongside a costumed Lange on the 'Freak Show' set. For those unfamiliar with the woman, 20 year-old Jyoti Amge was born with a genetic disorder called Achondroplasia, and stands at only 2′ 0.6″ tall.

Set in 1950s Jupiter, Florida, the new ‘Freak Show’ season will see franchise veteran Lange as Elsa Mars, a German ex-patriot running one of the last American freak shows, which include rescued “unusuals” from the likes of ‘Coven‘ and franchise stars Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Denis O’Hare, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts and Frances Conroy. ‘The Shield’ star Michael Chiklis will portray a strongman husband to Bassett’s character, while Wes Bentley will guest in a Halloween arc, among other details teased from Comic-Con 2014.
