‘American Horror Story’ Season 5 Adds Lady Gaga, ‘Hotel’ Subtitle?
The future of FX’s American Horror Story remains a mystery in Season 5, considering Freak Show’s poor reception and series star Jessica Lange’s likely exit, but it seems we have a new Mother Monster. Lady Gaga herself will join the cast of American Horror Story Season 5, potentially dubbed Hotel, and nothing has ever made more sense, in the history of ever.
Deadline broke news of Gaga (real name Stephani Germanotta)’s casting, though as with American Horror Story Season 5’s major focus, few additional details are yet known. Gaga also teased her casting over Twitter, suggesting the new season might be called American Horror Story Hotel. AHS creator Ryan Murphy had previously worked with Gaga on several notable Glee performances, while the pop star’s acting credits most recently landed her a bit part in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
FX boss John Landgraf previously described American Horror Story Season 5 as an “unusually large reinvention“ of the series, while Jessica Lange has previously expressed disinterest in returning for a fifth season. Fellow series lead Sarah Paulson will likely end up preoccupied by her role in Murphy’s other project, American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, while X-Men: Apocalypse star Evan Peters’ participation also remains in question.
It could be awhile yet before we learn what American Horror Lady Gaga brings to our Season 5 Hotel, but is our first casting a match made in hell? Seems that way, little monsters. Seems that way.
