'Arrow' season 3 fans have been eagerly anticipating a certain major DC casting, to the point we hadn't noticed one of its existing roles in jeopardy. To wit, where previously 'Sin City' star Devon Aoki had been cast in the role of DC superhero Katana, we've now learned that 'The Wolverine' sword-slinger Rila Fukushima will replace Aoki in the role when 'Arrow' season 3 debuts this fall.

Details are unclear on what scheduling conflicts put Aoki out of the role, but Fukushima will step in for 'Arrow' season 3 in the part of incarnation of Tatsu Yamashiro, one of Oliver’s mentors in flashbacks to his time in Hong Kong. The character had previously been described as “a critical influence on his journey to eventually become The Arrow of present day,” while in the world of DC comics, Tatsu Yamashiro is a Japanese martial arts expert who wields a deadly sword, from which the name Katana is derived.

Most recently adding Matt Ward as DC's Komodo, 'Arrow' season 3 has also recruited 'Superman Returns' star Brandon Routh in a major recurring role as tech magnate (and likely Felicity love interest) Ray Palmer, better known as DC's "The Atom." Not only that, but '22 Jump Street''s Peter Stormare will act as our new Vertigo, J.R. Ramirez will appear as DC superhero Wildcat, David Cubitt will play DC's Manhunter, and ‘Real Steel’ star Karl Yune will play Oliver’s flashback Hong Kong handler.

Both Caity Lotz and Colin Donnell will return for early episodes this season, and we've also got our first full look at Colton Haynes' costume in his new vigilante persona of "Arsenal," as well.

Hopefully 'Arrow' season 3 won't experience any more production hiccups, but in the meantime, what say you? Are you excited for the show's October 8 premiere? Watch the latest trailer below in the meantime, and tell us what you want to see from the DC drama's return this fall!
