The Flash has stolen the spotlight of late with its DC castings, but Arrow Season 4 has finally caught up with a Terrific new addition. Sean Saves the World alum Echo Kellum will join Team Arrow when Oliver Queen returns to Starling City, suiting up as DC superhero Mr. Terrific.

Entertainment Weekly confirmed the casting, which follows executive producer Andrew Kreisberg’s Comic-Con 2015 announcement that the character would appear in a recurring capacity, as well that “our version of Mr. Terrific happens to be gay.” The series will introduce Kellum as Curtis Holt, a technological savant and Palmer Technologies inventor who works under its new leader, one Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards).

In the comics at least, Mr. Terrific’s secret identity is that of Michael Holt, an exceptionally intelligent Olympic-level athlete joining the Justice Society of America after the untimely death of his wife and unborn child.

Thus far of Arrow Season 4, we know the fourth year is expected to somewhat creatively revamp the series after its Season 3 finale saw Oliver retiring the vigilante lifestyle, at least with his current costume. In addition to a focus on DC villains H.I.V.E. and Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), Season 4 will also introduce Batman villain Anarky, and may also feature flashbacks amid Green Lantern’s hometown of Coast City. Apart from Wendy Mericle’s elevation to co-showrunner alongside Marc Guggenheim, we also know that Punisher: War Zone director Lexi Alexander will helm an episode.

We’ll surely see more of Arrow Season 4 as production gears up in Vancouver, but does Echo Kellum make for a fantastic Mr. Terrific? What should we hope to see from Arrow’s take on the DC hero?
