‘Avengers’ VR Is Coming to The Void
The virtual reality gurus over at The Void have had a lot of success turning blockbusters into VR attractions. They’ve done Ghostbusters and Star Wars and Ralph Breaks the Internet, and now they’ve unveiled their first-ever Avengers VR, which is coming to Void locations later this month.
It’s titled Avengers: Damage Control and sees guests donning (virtual) suits that combine Iron Man armor and Wakandan tech to fight alongside a slew of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. You can watch the trailer below, which features an appearance by Letitia Wright as Shuri from Black Panther:
Here’s the official synopsis for the attraction, via The Void’s official site:
Assemble alongside Earth's mightiest heroes in Avengers: Damage Control, an all-new virtual reality adventure from Marvel Studios and ILMxLAB. Shuri has recruited your team of four to test her latest prototype design, a powerful new suit that combines Wakandan and Stark Industries technologies. When a familiar enemy from the Avengers' past seeks to steal the technology for themselves, your team must stop them before they unleash an oppressive new age upon the planet. Fight alongside some of your favorite Avengers like Doctor Strange, Wasp, Ant-Man, and more in a race to protect the world. Suit up, step in, and save the world in the ultimate Marvel Studios immersive experience. Available exclusively for a limited time at The VOID.
Those Stark/Panther suits actually look really cool. I haven’t had a chance to try any of these movie-based VRs before, but I think this is going to be the one to finally drag me out. Tickets for Avengers: Damage Control are on sale now for reservations starting on October 18.
