Finally, the mascots get their time to shine.

In Mascots, the latest from Best in Show filmmaker Christopher Guest, the people sweating inside those massive costumes get to compete for their moment of glory. The new comedy film from Netflix brings back Guest regulars in a cast including Jane Lynch, Parker Posey, Fred Willard, Ed Begley, Jr., Christopher Moynihan, Don Lake, Brad Williams, Zach Woods, and Chris O’Dowd. The film follows the various mascots coming together to win the ultimate prize, the Gold Fluffy, the “greatest of sporting honors” according to the new teaser. Here’s the official synopsis:

Starring many of his regular troupe of actors, this latest film takes place in the ultra-competitive world of sports mascots where they compete for the most prestigious award in their field, the Gold Fluffy.

The film will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month ahead of its premiere on Netflix on October 13. Written by Guest and his Family Tree co-creator Jim Piddock, Mascots also stars Susan Yeagley, Sarah Baker, Tom Bennett, Kerry Godliman, Bob Balaban, Jennifer Coolidge, Michael Hitchcock, Maria Blasucci, John Michael Higgins, and Jim Piddock.
