Are you ready to enter 'The Dark World'? In addition to 'Captain America 2,' Marvel brought the highly anticipated 'Thor 2' to Comic-Con 2013 for its panel presentation.

We already know a great deal about the upcoming sequel -- directed by Alan Taylor, and starring such names as Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Christopher Eccleston and Jamie Alexander, 'Thor: The Dark World' takes us back to Asgard as the ancient race of Dark Elves, led by the vengeful Malekith, threatens to plunge the universe into darkness.

Really, though, the panel was all about the new footage. But first ...

“Look how far you’ve fallen,” boomed the voice of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki in a pitch black Hall H. When his full introduction finished, the ‘Thor 2’ star appeared on stage in full Asgardian costume, throwing the crowd into joyous chaos. “You should have let me rule you when you had the chance,” he says, shooshing the audience. “Where are your Avengers now?” And the Shakespearean-esque banter continued … until ...

“Feast your eyes!” he exclaimed before introducing the brand-new ‘Thor 2’ trailer:

The footage kicked off with an extended clip of Thor and Sif battling the Dark Elves as they ransack a small village. Just as Sif seems to be outnumbered by the evil creatures, in drops Thor via the Bifrost to throw down some hammer time. Then, as the two are surrounded, in thuds a giant creature made entirely from rock. As it shouts and attempts to seem fearsome to the God of Thunder, Chris Hemsworth swings Mjolnir and shatters the beast into pieces.

As for the rest of the footage, much of it was already interspersed within the initial trailer, with the exception of some plot points. For one, Loki will be called upon by Thor to help stop the Dark Elves, though Sif and Volstagg threaten to kill him if he betrays them. While the two may seem to be on good terms -- SPOILER ALERT -- Loki betrays Thor in the end, offering up Natalie Portman's Jane Foster to Christopher Eccleston's Malekith so she may watch the world burn. And as Thor attempts to save her and defeat the Dark Elf by summoning his hammer, Loki goes ahead and -- SPOILER TWO -- chops off his hand!

Hopefully the footage will be online so that you can all see it in its full glory. 'Thor: The Dark World' hits theaters this November 8.
