New ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 Set Photos Reveal Daenerys’ Storyline
The fifth season finale of Game of Thrones left both viewers and readers in the lurch, finishing the extent of published storylines for characters like Daenerys and Jon Snow. We certainly had an inkling of who next Daenerys might align with, but leaked photos from the Season 6 set seem to spoil at least one major plot point of Dany’s next storyline.
You’re warned of … just, so, so many spoilers for Game of Thrones (and Season 6 in particular) from here on out, but it seems Spain photographers managed to capture a few shots of production with Emilia Clarke on set, as she (and remember that spoiler warning) seemingly leads a Khalasar of Dothraki with Daario Naharis (Michiel Huisman) by her side.
When last we saw, Daario and Jorah had ventured outside of Mereen to track down Daenerys, following her and Drogon’s winged exit from the battle in Daznak’s pit. Jorah’s absence from the photo could bear any number of explanations, but one wonders if perhaps Daenerys has willingly chosen to lead the Dothraki that surrounded her in the finale, potentially abandoning her bid for the throne of Westeros.
Elsewhere of Game of Thrones Season 6, screen legend Max von Sydow has been cast as the mysterious Three-Eyed Raven to a returning Bran, while Deadwood alum Ian McShane will also appear in a limited, mysterious role, joining Richard E. Grant and The Babadook star Essie Davis as theatre troup players, four notable actors as the Tarly family, and Borgen star Pilou Asbæk as fan-favorite Euron Greyjoy. Apart from a list of directors, debate continually rages as to whether Kit Harington’s Jon Snow will return, even as story logistics seemingly confirm scenes set at The Wall next year.
HBO is still busy celebrating Game of Thrones Season 5's Emmy wins, so check out the photos above while we wait for more news on Season 6.
