‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 Reveals New Details on Big Battle Scenes
Game of Thrones Season 7 doesn’t have as big of secrets to keep as that pesky Jon Snow’s fate, but can’t help tipping its hand a bit when it comes to big battles. We’ve heard of one major offensive likely ahead for the Dragon Queen, but is a separate shoot about to start another big siege?
Take this with a grain of salt for the moment, but where Watchers on the Wall previously tipped off that Spain’s Los Barruecos National Monument could serve as the site of a major battle for Daenerys, new intel suggests the fighting will actually take place at the waterside Las Breñas down the road. Moreover, it seems a separate castle shoot has apparently increased in size:
As if all that wasn’t enough, there’s even more new info from El Periódico Extremadura! They are now reporting that there will be three days of filming at Trujillo Castle, not one as we had previously heard. The outlet confirms that there will be one hundred extras present for filming at the location. The purpose of Trujillo Castle is not known, but it’s hard to imagine the place being a part of anywhere but Essos.
Elsewhere of Game of Thrones Season 7, a list of directors for the year has been announced, along with rumors of some major set pieces, while at least a portion of filming will take place in Iceland. Harry Potter star Jim Broadbent has been confirmed for a “significant” role, but sadly without Angela Lansbury, while several notable returns have likely been revealed.
It’s entirely possible we see multiple major battles next year, but in the meantime, check out the first Game of Thrones Season 7 production tease below.
