Now that we’ve finally gotten a first look at Game of Thrones Season 7 footage, it’s worth wondering if the final two years will continue the tradition of famous cameos. One report in particular suggests that UFC favorite Conor McGregor might be getting his hands dirty, but how credible is the rumor?

Take this with a grain of salt for the moment, but the nigh always-reliable Watchers on the Wall relayed a report from BelfastLive, The Sunday Life claiming that the Irish fighter would feature into one of the final seasons. From what we can tell, the plan doesn’t appear completely set in stone:

It’s been agreed that McGregor will appear in one of the remaining two seasons of Game of Thrones. He was headhunted as it were by HBO, as one of the GoT directors is a huge UFC fan. They believed that he would be a perfect fit for the show.

That last bit is actually true, as showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have previously guested on the UFC Unfiltered podcast (via UPROXX), while McGregor does have a connection to the Game of Thrones cast. We’ve previously seen Davos himself, Liam Cunningham training with McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh, just as Mountain actor Hafthor Julius Bjornsson had earlier this year.

It stands to reason McGregor could fit into any number of cameo roles, but what other big names should we expect when Game of Thrones Season 7 bows in mid-2017?
