This past Sunday's 'Game of Thrones' battle between "The Mountain and the Viper" proved as jaw-dropping (or splitting) as ever, but this coming weekend will see the HBO fantasy drama looking to outdo itself with Jon Snow's castle defense of "The Watchers on the Wall." The first photos from the episode arrived, and already things are looking pretty dire for Sam and Jon as Ygritte and the Wildlings make a deadly attack.

Though it's hard to get a sense of how intimate or expansive the 105 102-ranger-vs-100,000-Wildling battle will prove in Sunday's "The Watchers on the Wall" (directed by "Blackwater" helmer Neil Marshall), the latest photos from the hour tease some very personal stakes to come. Not only do we get Ygritte front and center pointing more arrows, but also teases of a battle between Jon Snow and Styr, the Magnar of Thenn (Yuri Kolokolnikov).

Meanwhile, here's the "expansive" description HBO gave of Sunday's "The Watchers on the Wall":

Episode 4.09 – The Watchers on the Wall

Jon Snow and the Night’s Watch face a big challenge.

Tough to say if we'll catch up with many other factions around Westeros (in particular to see how Tyrion's doing after the failed trial), but do you think "The Watchers on the Wall" will be the most epic 'Game of Thrones' battle yet? Take a look at the photos below, and give us your predictions for the penultimate season 4 episode in the comments!
