It could be time yet before Hulu’s adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale gets a first trailer, but the Elisabeth Moss-led continues to outdo itself in casting. Newly revealed among the major cast is Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel, in a role presumably more sympathetic than Rory Gilmore.

Per Hulu’s official confirmation (and the photo above), Bledel will take the role of Ofglen, Offred (Moss)’s fellow Handmaid. The character is noted as a seemingly “pious rule-follower, loyal to the oppressive Gilead system, but she turns out to be daring and subversive.” TVLine also specifies that the character identifies as a lesbian.

Here’s the production teaser:

Premiering on April 26, 2017, the series also features among its cast Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Orange Is the New Black star Samira Wiley, Max Minghella, Madeline Brewer, Leftovers favorite Ann Dowd and O-T Fagbenle. Check out the full synopsis:

The drama series, based on the award-winning, best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood, is the story of life in the dystopia of Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was formerly part of the United States. Facing environmental disasters and a plunging birthrate, Gilead is ruled by a twisted fundamentalist regime that treats women as property of the state. As one of the few remaining fertile women, Offred (Elisabeth Moss) is a Handmaid in the Commander’s household, one of the caste of women forced into sexual servitude as a last desperate attempt to repopulate a devastated world. In this terrifying society where one wrong word could end her life, Offred navigates between Commanders, their cruel Wives, domestic Marthas, and her fellow Handmaids – where anyone could be a spy for Gilead – all with one goal: to survive and find the daughter that was taken from her.

Hulu will debut a trailer sometime in the next months, but what do we make of the latest Handmaid’s Tale addition? Check out the photos below.
