Earlier today we posted Disney’s new behind-the-scenes featurette from the super-secret set of Captain America: Civil War, but how about some intel from someone who has already seen the film? Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has not only had the pleasure of seeing Civil War (or at least an early cut of it), but he thinks it’s one of the best Marvel movies…ever.

Gunn hosted another one of his impromptu Facebook Q&As, this time answering questions on video (via CBM). When asked about Civil War, the director said it was “incredible,” and calls it “one of the best Marvel movies ever.” He also had the privilege of seeing the new Spider-Man in action, and says Tom Holland is “amazing” as the rebooted Peter Parker, calling his performance “off the charts awesome.”

Sure, Gunn works for Marvel and he might be a bit biased, but he’s also one of the only MCU creatives who regularly answers fan questions on Twitter and directly addresses rumors about his projects — which kind of makes you want to believe him a little more than the average studio guy. Just a little.

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6, 2016, with Holland make his MCU debut as Spider-Man ahead of his new solo movie in 2017. Gunn is currently in pre-production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, with Kurt Russell in talks to play Peter Quill (Chris Pratt)’s dad. That film hits theaters in 2018.
