Earlier today The CW’s Arrow and Flash spinoff Legends of Tomorrow peeled back the veil of secrecy for a first look at its cast, and now the entire curtain has come down. Resurrected Canaries, Vandal Savages and shrinking Atoms await in the first official trailer for The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow!

There’s plenty to unpack in the first trailer, which rather unsurprisingly confirms that Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer didn’t perish in the Arrow finale explosion, but wound up with his famous size-changing ability. In addition to our first look at Hawkgirl soaring, and Caity Lotz’s White Canary resurrection in the Lazarus Pit, the trailer also concerns DC baddie Vandal Savage as the immortal big bad, as expected.

Premiering likely in January of 2016, so reads the Legends of Tomorrow description:

When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known? The cast includes Victor Garber (The Flash); Brandon Routh (Arrow); Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who); Caity Lotz (Arrow); Dominic Purcell (The Flash) and Wentworth Miller (The Flash).

Thus far, we know the series to include Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber), Jay Jackson (Franz Drameh), Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Caity Lotz, and time-traveler Rip Hunter (Doctor Who alum Arthur Darvill).

The series won’t formally start shooting until this summer, but does Legends of Tomorrow sound like the best possible brand-extension of Arrow or The Flash?
