‘Iron Fist’ Is Coming to ‘Luke Cage’ Season 2
We had hoped perhaps Iron Fist might forgo Season 2 in favor of a Luke Cage “Heroes for Hire” series, but Marvel and Netflix will bring us the next best thing. Danny Rand will return alongside his new buddy Luke in Season 2.
Entertainment Weekly shared a new look at Luke Cage Season 2, though there isn’t very much to see or gleam beyond the title characters of Power Man and Iron Fist glaring at one another. No details were revealed of Danny’s appearance, but the character was last seen filling in for Daredevil as Hell’s Kitchen’s protector, which could easily bring him into contact with Luke (as could Misty’s new gear, courtesy of Rand Enterprises).
Both the Iron Fist and Luke Cage worlds are starting to blend together regardless, as Simone Missick will also drop by the second season of Iron Fist for a “Daughters of the Dragon” reunion with Colleen Wing. For the moment, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Daredevil are expected to premiere in 2018, so it might make sense if Marvel wanted to keep Iron Fist in the limelight before a presumable return in 2019.
Elsewhere of Luke Cage Season 2, we know Mustafa Shakir will play Bushmaster alter-ego John McIver, while Gabrielle Dennis will take the role of Tilda Johnson (Nightshade in the books). Simone Missick will be back as Misty Knight, along with Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, and Theo Rossi as ‘Shades,’ while Lucy Liu will take up directorial duties.
We’ll see if New York Comic-Con brings additional word of Luke Cage or Iron Fist Season 2, but are our heroes for hire finally buddying up?
