Marvel’s ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ TV Series Casts ‘Nashville’ Star For Final Series Regular
Just yesterday we were talking about whether or not Marvel's 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series could find a place for Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury among the buzz-worthy cast, but now it seems the core roster of agents has been completed. Sometime 'Nashville' star Chloe Bennet has been tapped as the sixth, and final series regular agent of the Marvel's 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series, which goes before cameras next month. Find out about the superhero-friendly Agent Skye inside!
The Marvel TV landscape will get infinitely cooler over the next few months as Joss Whedon and Marvel's 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series films its pilot episode and preps for a fall 2013 launch on ABC. Via The Hollywood Reporter, the latest and final series regular to join the cast is that of actress Chloe Bennet, playing the "edgy" Agent Skye.
Bennet's Skye is described as confident, "slightly obsessed with superhero culture and the shadow organizations that exist within it," and can easily "out-talk anyone with her unflappable nature." Bennet joins a cast that also includes Clark Gregg's resurrected Agent Phil Coulson, as well as ‘ER’ vet Ming-Na, Brett Dalton, Elizabeth Henstridge and Iain De Caestecker as the other agents of the team.
Set within the cinematic Marvel universe and directed by Joss Whedon, ABC's ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ TV series will see the ‘Avengers’ director writing the script with brother Jed Whedon, with Jed’s wife Maurisa Tancharoen directing as well.
We'll expect further details as the pilot goes before cameras next month, but what say you? Does Chloe Bennet's addition to the team spell out a 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series you can't wait to see? Give us your predictions in the comments!
