The concept of a trailer for a talk show may seem odd, but given the amount of on-location content Netflix’s Chelsea will bring by its May premiere, the extra promotion is worth a look. See for yourself, as Handler embraces her inner Oprah, talks to dogs, and yes, takes aim at Donald Trump in the first official Chelsea Trailer.

Everything from polygamy to Star Wars: Rogue One star Diego Luna pops up in the new trailer, which leans much more heavily on international exploration than an in-studio approach. In addition to the above trailer, Netflix has also released the first week of guests from Chelsea, which premieres as early as this coming Wednesday:

Wednesday, May 11th

Chelsea created this talk show to get the college education she never had, so for her series opener, she’s tackling the topic of education with guests Drew Barrymore, Pitbull and U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King. The episode will close with a special Netflix University segment.

Thursday, May 12th

Chelsea’s LIVE in-studio guests include Gwyneth Paltrow, Tony Hale, and TEDTalk’s Chris Anderson. She will also travel south of the border to explore the world of Telenovelas in Mexico.

Friday, May 13th

Welcome to ChelseaCon. Comic book expert Amy Dallen gives Chelsea a primer on the Marvel Universe, before the cast of “Captain America: Civil War” –  Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, and Frank Grillo – take on their biggest challenge yet: dinner at Chelsea’s!

So reads the full synopsis for the half-hour series, which premieres on May 11 at 12:01 A.M., airing on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (but always streamable thereafter):

Chelsea is back with a freshly stamped passport and new global outlook as she tackles today’s tough issues with the same acerbic wit and fearless curiosity you know and love.

Handler tossed the traditional talk show model out the window for Netflix’s first-ever talk show. Join Chelsea as she travels around the world – from Russia, Japan, and Mexico City, across the U.S. and back again to Sony Pictures Studios, where she tapes in front of a LIVE in-studio audience – to explore the subjects that matter most to you.

Yes, there will be guests, and many of whom will be celebrities whose faces you have plastered on your bedroom ceiling (am I the only one who still does that?). But the show will let you see them, and Chelsea herself, as you’ve never seen them before, engaging in thought-provoking, yet hilarious conversations about topics like international cultures, alternative lifestyles, education, health, sports, parenting, politics, and more.

See for yourself on May 11, but what do we make of the first Chelsea trailer?
