Were you to chart out two separate columns of iconic TV series that do, and don’t deserve revivals, Netflix’s Fuller House would undoubtedly fall on the right side, though it may yet have cleared room for something fans actually wanted. Yes, the Gilmore Girls will return with a Netflix revival of their own, potentially bringing fans four new movie-length specials.

Per TVLine, Netflix has reportedly closed a deal with Warner Bros. for new Gilmore Girls, as written by by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino. Dealmaking with the cast has only just begun, though main series stars Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson are all expected to return.

Impressively, the revival is said to take place over no less than four 90-minute episodes, or “mini-movies.” That’s plenty of time with which the Palladinos can present their original vision for the series, as Sherman-Palladino left the final season owing to a contract dispute with Warner Bros.

No word on who, amid the impressive supporting cast might make return appearances, whether Melissa McCarthy, Jared Padalecki, Milo Ventimiglia, Krysten Ritter, Seth MacFarlane, and of course, Jon Hamm.

Well, who next should we plunge from the TV wasteland into a Netflix revival? Are further Firefly thinkpieces on the way?
