While much of the anticipation for Netflix's upcoming original content ends up dominated by the May 26 release of 'Arrested Development' season 4, acclaimed director Eli Roth's new series 'Hemlock Grove' will offer subscribers horror like they've never seen before, pushing the boundaries of even cable's most mature content. The new series premieres in its entirety on April 19, but how would you like an early look at the gruesome transformations and twisted story from Eli Roth himself?

With 'House of Cards' having proved its success and Netflix's viewership sure to explode in the wake of 'Arrested Development' season 4, the subscriber content service will soon try its hand at the horror game with Eli Roth's ongoing series 'Hemlock Grove.' The 13-episode series, debuting April 19, follows the brutal murder of a young girl at the Godfrey steel mill, and 17-year-old Gypsy/rumored werewolf Peter Rumancek, along with Godfrey estate heir Roman decide to find the killer themselves.

Roth recently spoke out about the series from Cannes, praising Netflix's lack of restrictions in that “you want to see the sex and the killing and the violence. What’s great about Netflix and Gaumont is you can really push the envelope in that direction.” In particular, one of the gruesome werewolf transformation sequences (which we've already seen thanks to our friends at IGN) made its way to the web, for which Roth strove to create a horror image that “would really f--- up an entire generation.”

The series stars Famke Janssen, Lili Taylor, Bill Skarsgard (brother to ‘True Blood‘s’ Alexander), Dougray Scott, Penelope Mitchell and Landon Liboiron, and takes its base from the original novel by Brian McReedy. You can check out the gruesome (and NSFW) transformation scene below, and tell us if you'll tune in for 'Hemlock Grove' in the comments!
