Netflix Reveals Premiere Date for Mystery Series ‘Locke & Key’
Netflix has finally announced the premiere date for its highly anticipated supernatural mystery series Locke & Key — Feb. 7, 2020.
The television show is based on the graphic novel series of the same name, written by Joe Hill and illustrated by Gabriel Rodríguez. Along with its premiere date, we have received its chilling poster, featuring a key being twisted into a keyhole engraved into human flesh.
In addition to this information, Netflix has also released the official synopsis for Locke & Key: “After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death. As the Locke children explore the different keys and their unique powers, a mysterious demon awakens — and will stop at nothing to steal them. From Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) and Meredith Averill (The Haunting of Hill House), the series is a coming-of-age mystery about love, loss, and the unshakable bonds that define family.”
Netflix's show announcement is a long time coming for fans of the graphic novels. Locke & Key's first TV adaptation was a failed Fox pilot, followed by a nixed deal with Hulu.
At long last, the series will have its day on the streaming giant. Until then, we're anxiously waiting for Netflix to unlock more secrets about the show.
