Netflix has been having a banner year with the release of its highest-profile original dramas yet 'House of Cards' and 'Hemlock Grove,' soon to soar even higher with the release of 'Arrested Development' season 4, but 2014 might be its biggest year yet. The streaming service has officially ordered 10 episodes of the Wachowski siblings' forthcoming sci-fi drama 'Sense8' for 2014,  teaming with sci-fi veteran J. Michael Straczynski, but will it be their biggest project to date?

Lana and Andy Wachowski are coming down from ‘Cloud Atlas,’ and setting their sights on TV next with ‘Sense8’ reports Deadline. The first serialized project from the pair along with 'Babylon 5' creator J. Michael Straczynski has officially received a 10-episode order from Netflix, to begin streaming in the year 2014. The ambitious series is described as “a gripping global tale of minds linked and souls hunted” that follows the Wachowskis’ storytelling style.

"Andy and Lana Wachowski and Joe Straczynski are among the most imaginative writers and gifted visual storytellers of our time," said Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos. "Their incredible creations are favorites of Netflix members globally and we can't wait to bring 'Sense8' to life."

"We're excited to work with Netflix and Georgeville Television on this project, and we've wanted to work with Joe Straczynski for years, chiefly due to the fact his name is harder to pronounce than ours, but also because we share a love of genre and all things nerdy," said Andy and Lana Wachowski . "Several years ago, we had a late night conversation about the ways technology simultaneously unites and divides us, and out of that paradox 'Sense8' was born."

The Wachowskis will next begin work on Warner Bros. project 'Jupiter Ascending' with Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, but what say you? Are you excited to see what the Wachowskis bring to an original series with 'Sense8?'
