‘Orange Is the New Black’ Gets Season 4 Premiere Date, New Netflix Teaser
As expected, there’s lots of big news coming from Netflix ahead of their panel at TCA ’16, and in addition to finally renewing Marvel’s Jessica Jones for Season 2, the streaming service has set a return date for Orange Is the New Black Season 4 along with the first teaser. We’re sure to learn more about the coming season once the panel commences, but expect our return to Litchfield to resolve a few of those lingering cliffhangers.
Netflix has set a June 17 premiere for Orange Is the New Black Season 4, the critically-acclaimed prison dramedy from showrunner and creator Jenji Kohan. Last we left the ladies of Litchfield, Alex Vause was confronted by an assassin sent by her former drug boss, Bennett had abandoned Dayanara and mysteriously vanished, Ramos got stuck with the predatory Coates, and several new inmates came to Litchfield as part of a new prison program — including Fringe alum Blair Brown as a Martha Stewart-type CEO imprisoned for white collar crime.
There’s so many questions we can’t wait to see answered in Season 4, which will presumably pick up right where Season 3 left off last summer. The teaser above doesn’t offer much, instead mostly recycling footage and dialogue from last season with a few glimpses at returning characters and newcomer Brown.
Expected to return are stars Taylor Schilling, Uzo Aduba, Laura Prepon, Kate Mulgrew, Natasha Lyonne, Laverne Cox, Dascha Polanco, Michael Harney, Danielle Brooks, Taryn Manning, Selenis Leyva, Yael Stone, Nick Sandow, Samira Wiley, Lea DeLaria, Jackie Cruz, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Adrienne Moore. Mysteriously absent from that cast roster are Pablo Schreiber (Pornstache) and Matt McGorry (Bennett), but we’ll know more soon.
