'Sons of Anarchy' season 6 might still be a ways off, but that hasn't stopped news of returning characters and adversaries from coming out of the woodwork. After learning that season 6 newbies Jimmy Smits and Donal Logue would return, now we've learned that longtime series star Drea de Matteo will return for a number of episodes as well. Season 5 left Wendy in pretty dire straits, so what brings Drea de Matteo back this time? Get the latest 'Sons of Anarchy' season 6 scoop inside!

'Sons of Anarchy' season 5 finale "J'ai Obtenu Cette" may have seen Jax's main squeeze Tara carted off to jail, but at least one other woman in his life isn't going anywhere just yet. TVLine reports that former 'Sopranos' star Drea de Matteo has officially signed to return as long-recurring character Wendy Case, appearing in multiple episodes of the new season beginning this fall.

Wendy's return appearances likely won't be pleasant for Jax, considering that he last forcefully injected her with heroin to discredit any police action taken against his family. With Tara no longer present, Wendy might look to take matters into her own hands to get custody of her son Abel.

While Donal Logue’s villainous Lee Toric will return, and Jimmy Smits (Nero Padilla) was announced to join the series as a regular this coming year, still unconfirmed is the involvement of Billy Blanks’ character August Marks, whom Sutter cautioned might not be available for the sixth season. Last year, Sutter told reporters the next batch of episodes would likely open a few weeks ahead in the story, the weight of the season 5 finale’s events still fresh.

What say you? Are you excited to see what Wendy brings to the table in 'Sons of Anarchy' season 6? Who beside Drea de Matteo would you like to see return? Give us your predictions in the comments!
