‘Sons of Anarchy’ Season 6 Sets 90-Minute Premiere for September 10
Though the initial 'Sons of Anarchy' season 6 poster that made the rounds earlier this month confirmed that the SAMCRO motorcycle drama would roar out its premiere on September 10, FX has gifted fans with an extra bit of good news. The acclaimed biker drama will open its sixth year with 90-minute installment "Straw," but will the club be in any better shape than when we left?
FX's announcement comes hot on the heels of the 'Sons of Anarchy' Comic-Con 2013 panel, which screened the first footage of the new season and teased the dark times ahead for Jax, Tara, Clay, Gemma and all the SAMCRO players. Says FX of the new season premiering September 10:
Having framed Clay for the murder of Damon Pope, Season Six begins with Jax’s leadership uncontested, but his family life suffering from his single-minded pursuit of John Teller’s vision. Jax must find a way to keep Tara from going to prison for conspiracy to commit murder while rebuilding his club and breaking from the cycle of violence and greed that ultimately led to his best friend’s death.
The sixth season of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ will feature the likes of C. Thomas Howell, ‘Shameless’ star Steve Howey, former ‘The Shield’ star CCH Pounder, ‘Deadwood’ star Kim Dickens, while both Drea de Matteo’s Wendy and Donal Logue’s villainous Lee Toric will return, and Jimmy Smits (Nero Padilla) was upgraded to series regular. Recently, series creator Kurt Sutter confirmed to reporters the next batch of episodes would likely open a few days ahead in the story, the weight of the season 5 finale’s events still fresh.
