Start the puns now: Marisa Tomei is joining the cast of Sony and Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man reboot in the role of Aunt May. Marisa Aunt May! See, it’s fun. You try. We can’t have a Spider-Man film without Uncle Ben and Aunt May, and since the studios are heading back to the drawing board with the origin story (again), it’s time to revisit Peter Parker’s family.

Variety reports that the Oscar-winning Tomei has likely joined the cast of Spider-Man opposite Tom Holland, who stars in the titular role of the web-slinging hero. The trade cautions that no deal has been made just yet, but that an offer went out to the actress late last week.

It looks like casting is beginning to ramp up on the reboot after the studios’ lengthy, months-long search for the perfect new Peter Parker — a process that was said to include the input of Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr. Cop Car helmer Jon Watts is set to direct the new Spider-Man film, with Marvel and Sony reportedly searching for a screenwriter to help him with scripting duties.

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is co-producing the project with former Sony exec Amy Pascal. Our new Spider-Man will make his first appearance in Captain America: Civil War on May 6, 2016 ahead of his new solo movie, which arrives on July 28, 2017.
