We’ll still have to wait until Thanksgiving to see Spike Lee’s Netflix take on She’s Gotta Have It, but there’s no better time than now to meet the cast. Say hello to Nola Darling, Greer Childs, Jamie Overstreet and Mars Blackmon in new clips introducing the cast.

Featuring Shots Fired star DeWanda Wise in the lead role of Nola Darling (originally played by Tracy Camilla Johns), Spike Lee’s new Netflix series will debut at Thanksgiving 2017, or Thursday, November 23. The ten-episode dramedy re-imagines Lee’s 1986 film in a contemporary setting (and in color, it seems), featuring Hamilton star Anthony Ramos in the role Lee originally played, Mars Blackmon.

So reads the description:

She’s Gotta Have It the Netflix Original Series from Academy Award Nominated Director SPIKE LEE is a 10-episode contemporary update of Lee’s 1986 revolutionary debut film. Starring DeWanda Wise (Shots Fired) in the central role of Nola Darling, a Brooklyn-based artist in her late twenties struggling to define herself and divide her time amongst her Friends, her Job and her Three Lovers: Greer Childs played by Cleo Anthony (Divergent), Jamie Overstreet played by Lyriq Bent (The Book of Negroes), and Mars Blackmon played by Hamilton alum Anthony Ramos. Chyna Layne (Precious) and Ilfenesh Hadeara (Baywatch), Margot Bingham (Barbershop: The Next Cut), Sydney Morton (Love, New York), and Joie Lee (Do The Right Thing) also star. Lee directs all 10 episodes of the series, he created and produced the show.
