‘Supergirl’ Officially Elects ‘Wonder Woman’ Lynda Carter as President
The drama of Supergirl moving to The CW understandably swept a few Season 2 questions aside, particularly reports of producers eying Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter for a presidential role. Thankfully, Supergirl will follow through on its wondrous casting, confirming that Season 2 will introduce Carter as Supergirl’s Madam POTUS.
Following a brief mention in the Season 1 finale, Supergirl’s American President will finally show her face in Season 2, as Lynda Carter takes the recurring role to begin with episode 203. Producers had first eyed Carter to take the role in Season 1, but pushed the appearance over schedule conflicts.
Meanwhile, in addition to the introduction of Tyler Hoechlin as the show’s official incarnation of Superman, Supergirl Season 2 will cast several notable roles that include Lex Luthor’s sister Lena, DC police officer Maggie Sawyer and several others. Still unknown is if Supergirl Season 2 will introduce Superboy, given that mystery Season 2 cliffhanger, or how the Maiden of Might ends up in that epic four-way superhero crossover.
Supergirl has plenty other questions to answer on the road to Season 2, as well from Comic-Con 2016, but how wondrous might Lynda Carter’s presence be?
