CW ‘Supergirl’ Sets New Showrunners for Season 3
Supergirl certainly had adjustments to make in transition from CBS to The CW for Season 2, but further changes lie in store for Season 3. Now that production has moved firmly north, The CW confirms Season 3 will fall into new hands.
According to Deadline, the departure of CBS co-creator/showrunner Ali Adler begot the promotion of Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner to co-showrunners along with co-creator Andrew Kreisberg. Adler will remain a consultant, even as both Queller and Rovner joined the Warner Bros. series in Season 1 as co-executive and consulting producer.
Elsewhere of Supergirl Season 3, we know that Odette Annable will play “World-Killer” big-bad Reign, while Katie McGrath’s Lena Luthor has been elevated to series regular and Floriana Lima’s Maggie Sawyer has been downgraded to recurring. Calista Flockhart will also not return in a regular capacity, despite Cat Grant being featured in the final two episodes of Season 2, along with Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman.
We’ll likely hear of additional Supergirl news before long, but how else might Season 3 change the series?
