Much like HBO's other buzzy hot-button drama 'Girls,' we're excited for a second cycle of Aaron Sorkin's 'The Newsroom' regardless of what people had to say about the first.  We've already heard about a few high-profile guest stars for the second season, including comedian Patton Oswalt and 'Mad Men' star Rosemarie Dewitt, but who else might be go for a trip to 'The Newsroom?'  Meryl Streep would certainly be a good get, but if not her, how about her daughter Grace Gummer?

Practically no sooner than the elections have ended, has Mitt Romney's campaign become a subject of 'The Newsroom's second season.According to Deadline, the second season of HBO's controversial Aaron Sorkin drama 'The Newsroom' has tapped Grace Gummer for a recurring role, that of embedded reporter Hallie Shea, covering the Mitt Romney campaign.

Apart from a recurring role on 'Smash,' Gummer is known for being the daughter of Hollywood legend Meryl Streep, as well as younger sister to 'Emily Owens, M.D.' star Mamie Gummer. Gummer joins 'The Newsroom' season 2 guest stars Patton Oswalt and Rosemarie DeWitt, playing fictional network ACN's new VP of Human Resources, and a litigator defending ACN against a wrongful-termination suit, respectively.

The second cycle of 'The Newsroom' has begun filming already, for a likely summer 2013 debut.  Tell us what you want to see from the fictional/real world news drama in the comments!
